Imagine Aerial selected as the official drone & live stream provider for the US Rowing 2021 Northeast Youth Championships. After testing together to develop mutually beneficial technology in a long-standing collaboration since 2017, US Rowing leadership and several scholastic rowing clubs and rowing leaders in the Northeastern Region of the US have selected Imagine Aerial as the official drone video and live streaming provider for the 2021 US Rowing Northeast Youth Championships in Saratoga NY on May 15 & 16, 2021. Imagine Aerial approached Saratoga Rowing Associates and US Rowing in 2017 with new ideas for a long-distance, low latency, live streaming option with new technical views under development. Field and lab tests began in 2017-18 with former US Rowing CEO, Patrick McNerny visiting the Imagine Aerial headquarters in Syracuse New York. The organizations have been planning a launch (delayed by a Covid halt to team sports) but will resume with the May 15-16 event. This year's live stream is more important than ever because thousands of spectators who accompany athletes will not be allowed to view the competition on site. "Our streaming has become the only way for them to watch this important annual competition" said Gavin Snyder, CEO of Imagine Aerial. "For some, it may be the last opportunity to watch their athletes compete but they can't be there in person due to Covid regulations". Many will travel from other states to drop their athletes off to compete in an event they could normally celebrate on-site. "We've been working non-stop with organizers who were notified on short notice that the event could take place but without spectators" Snyder said. The event will stream on YouTube with a link right here on the Imagine Aerial home page.
